79-year-old bicyclist killed in Woodburn crash on Highway 99E

Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal crash that killed a 79-year-old bicyclist Friday on Highway 99E in Woodburn.

Troopers responded on July 24 to a vehicle-versus-bicycle crash near Cleveland Street, according to police. The preliminary investigation said a gold Ford Expedition was traveling northbound on Highway 99E when it struck Howard Roy Hagen, 79, of Woodburn, as he attempted to cross the highway.

Police said Hagen was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Eduardo Felix Diaz, 24, of Woodburn, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
