Bicyclist seriously injured in I-5 crash in Marion County, Oregon State Police say

Oregon State Police are investigating a vehicle-versus-bicycle crash on Interstate 5 in Marion County that left a bicyclist seriously injured early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews responded at 3:54 a.m. near milepost 255. According to OSP, a white Subaru Outback was traveling northbound on I-5 when it struck the bicyclist. The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital.

Police said the Subaru driver stayed at the scene. Investigators also said they believe another vehicle may have struck the bicycle after the first collision. That detail could matter for any insurance review, witness accounts, and the sequence of impacts.

OSP asked anyone who may have struck the bicycle, saw the bicycle in the roadway, or observed the bicyclist before the crash to contact investigators. The agency listed case No. SP26-236336 and asked witnesses to call 800-442-0776 or *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone.
