Following a thorough year-long investigation, the Marion County Grand Jury indicted Porfirio Perez Martinez on two counts of Criminal Negligent Homicide.
The incident, which occurred at around 5:40 PM at the intersection of McKay Road NE and Case Road NE near St. Paul, involved a Buick sedan traveling eastbound and a refrigerated commercial box truck moving westbound. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the box truck veered out of its lane, initiating a head-on collision with the Buick sedan.
Sadly, the crash claimed the lives of two Portland residents. The driver of the Buick, identified as Lisa Rohrer-Boylan, was declared deceased at the scene. Her passenger, Joan Rohrer, succumbed to her injuries after being airlifted to a Portland area hospital.
The driver of the box truck, Porfirio Perez Martinez, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Newberg Hospital. After recovering, Martinez was arrested on September 6, 2024, following the grand jury’s indictment.
