A motorcycle crash on southbound Highway 217 near Tigard closed all but one lane on July 14, 2026, according to KATU.
The crash involved a motorcycle and at least one other vehicle between SW Greenburg Road and Highway 99. KATU reported that only the far left lane remained open on southbound 217, and the on-ramp from Greenburg to southbound 217 was also closed.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after the motorcycle was reportedly trapped underneath a vehicle. At the time of the initial report, there were no reports of injuries. KATU said it was unclear how long the lane closures would last.
For riders and drivers involved in a crash like this, the first priority is medical care, even when injuries are not obvious at the scene. A collision that blocks a freeway lane can also leave behind questions about witness statements, vehicle positions, and insurance coverage, all of which can matter later.
Motorcycle crashes often turn on details that disappear fast, including skid marks, debris, and dash camera footage. If a rider needs to make an insurance claim or sort out fault, it helps to document the scene, get names of witnesses, and keep copies of medical records and repair estimates.
