At approximately 9:41 a.m. on December 1, 2024, Francisco Nava, 45, of Newberg, was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis southbound on Highway 99. After turning onto westbound Oregon Route 18 near McDougall Road, Nava lost control of the vehicle. State police investigators report that the car spun into the eastbound lane, where it was struck in the rear by an oncoming Chevrolet Bounder RV.
The RV was operated by Terra Wippert, 45, of Browning, Montana. Wippert was not injured in the crash. Three juvenile passengers were in the RV at the time: a 5-year-old girl who suffered minor injuries and was transported for medical evaluation, along with a 15-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy who were reportedly uninjured.
