Bend, Oregon | December 27, 2024 - A tragic car crash on Highway 97 near Terrebonne on Friday evening resulted in the death of a La Pine woman and left a Madras man with serious injuries. The Oregon State Police (OSP) are actively investigating the collision, which involved two vehicles and disrupted traffic for about two hours.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:57 p.m. on December 27, 2024, when OSP responded to the crash near milepost 117 in Deschutes County. According to the preliminary investigation, a northbound Ford F250, driven by 45-year-old Benjamin Troy Boynton Jr., crossed the centerline for reasons that are still under investigation. The vehicle collided with a southbound Jeep Wrangler operated by Rebecka Ann Perrine, a 43-year-old woman from La Pine.
Unfortunately, Rebecka Ann Perrine was pronounced deceased at the scene. Benjamin Troy Boynton Jr. sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
