Tragic Update: East Portland Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Recent Crash

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in East Portland late Sunday night has died from their injuries, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The incident occurred around 10:06 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Ash Street. Officers from the East Precinct responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian seriously injured and immediately initiated life-saving efforts. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to those injuries.

The driver's identity has not been released, but police confirmed that they remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. The name of the deceased has also not been released, pending family notification.
