Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Southeast Portland Crash

A 50-year-old Portland man, Willie Talimao Jr., was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Southeast 122nd Avenue near Southeast Ash Street late Sunday evening. The accident occurred around 10:06 p.m. on August 3, and emergency responders arrived to find Talimao with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene and transportation to a local hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Driver Remained at the Scene and Cooperated with Police

According to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. The Major Crash Team responded and closed Southeast 122nd Avenue between East Burnside Street and Southeast Stark Street during the investigation.

Authorities have not released further details about the driver or the circumstances leading up to the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and the PPB is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact their Traffic Investigations Unit and reference case number 25-209104.
