Two motorcyclists critically hurt in Northwest Portland crash

Two motorcycle riders were critically injured late Friday in Northwest Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers were called at 11:14 p.m. on July 24 to Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Front Avenue after a crash involving two motorcycles. Police found both drivers down at the scene, and paramedics took both riders to a nearby hospital. One rider had life-threatening injuries, and both were listed in critical condition.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating the collision. Northwest St. Helens Road was closed between Northwest Front Avenue and Northwest Balboa Avenue while officers worked the scene.
