Two motorcyclists critically injured in Northwest Portland crash

Two motorcyclists were taken to a hospital after a late-night crash in Northwest Portland on Friday, July 24, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Police said officers were called at 11:14 p.m. to Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Front Avenue for a collision involving two motorcycles. When they arrived, both drivers were down in the roadway. Paramedics took both riders to a nearby hospital, and police said both were in critical condition. One rider had life-threatening injuries.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating. Northwest St. Helens Road was closed between Northwest Front Avenue and Northwest Balboa Avenue while investigators worked the scene.
