A 29-year-old man was jailed after Hood River County sheriff’s officials say he fired multiple shots near a wedding party just after midnight Sunday, July 26.

According to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a report of a man threatening to shoot another man at a wedding party. The deputy was talking with the reporting party beside a truck across the road from the venue when a subject stepped out of an orchard on the other side of the road and fired in their direction, then ran back into the orchard.

No one was struck. The sheriff’s office said the deputy moved innocent parties behind vehicles right away.

Additional deputies and officers from the Hood River Police Department responded. The suspect was not found immediately.

Investigators later determined there was probable cause to arrest Abraham Delgado Bucio, 29, of The Dalles, on allegations that he threatened partygoers and tried to shoot one of them, though the gun did not discharge, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hood River police later spotted a possible suspect vehicle and followed it into Wasco County, where deputies from the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office, officers from The Dalles Police Department, and Hood River police stopped the vehicle. Bucio was arrested and charged with multiple felonies.

For anyone injured or threatened in a violent incident, records from law enforcement, witness names, and medical documentation can matter later. If a case involves possible civil claims tied to assault or negligent security, those early details may become part of the evidence file.
