Washington County deputies accuse driver in Friday bicycle hit-and-run

Washington County sheriff’s deputies say they found the driver accused of striking a 74-year-old man riding a bicycle and leaving the scene near Northwest Union Road and Neakahnie Avenue.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Friday. Deputies said the bicyclist was injured. The suspect, identified as Kathleen Priepke, 81, of Rock Creek, was accused of one count of failure to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person.

The sheriff’s office said deputies located Priepke on Saturday. The report does not say how badly the bicyclist was hurt or whether he was taken for medical treatment.
