Portland police say a man shot at a motel in the Argay Terrace area on March 5, 2026, later died from his injuries. The Portland Police Bureau said the shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. in the 13300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Officers found one victim at the scene and he was taken to a local hospital. On March 12, the Medical Examiner notified homicide detectives that the man had died. Two days later, the Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.

Police identified the victim as Robert Mikel Lambert, 50, of Portland. His family has been notified and asked for privacy. Investigators also said a photo was released with the family’s permission.

According to police, members of the Enhanced Community Safety Team responded after the shooting and helped patrol officers locate a suspect after a brief search. Homicide detectives joined the investigation because of the severity of the victim’s injuries. Pryce Lampkin, 40, was arrested and lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center. Police said he was charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, with additional charges pending.
