Motorcyclist Dies from Injuries Sustained in March Crash

Portland police say a 53-year-old motorcyclist died from injuries suffered in a March 21 crash in the Lents neighborhood. The Portland Police Bureau identified the rider as Timothy L. Turner of Portland.

According to police, East Precinct officers responded at about 10:35 p.m. to the 9700 block of Southeast Foster Road and Southeast Woodstock Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the crash site on Southeast Woodstock Boulevard. Witnesses told police the motorcyclist swerved, apparently to avoid pedestrians crossing the road outside a designated crosswalk.

Police said the motorcycle then went down on its left side and slid, striking a female pedestrian and a dog. The woman declined medical assistance and left before officers arrived. The dog ran off. Turner was conscious at the scene and did not appear to have visible injuries, police said, but he was taken to a local hospital. Police later learned that he had died. The Medical Examiner preliminarily ruled that Turner died of injuries sustained in the crash.
